I keep forgetting this! I keep forgetting that I made this peppermint trifle that I found posted on Pinterest:
I mainly went by the recipe posted above, but I did break down and use instant chocolate pudding because it was the holidays, and I just didn’t have time to make the pudding from scratch. But WOW. This was a good one. A little crunchy, what with the peppermint pieces, but delicious!
Unfortunately, I’ll have to type that recipe out at some point. I got it from Volume I of Mastering the Art of French Cooking. I’ll type it when I have time. This was good! It probably works better for breakfast than for dessert, mainly because I think it wants–no NEEDS–a little coffee as a sidekick. It was really simple and very good, though the cherry pitting process was a bit taxing.
And I forgot to talk about making this:
I love frozen gyoza. I should learn to make my own, but for the time being, I’d like to thank the Kroger freezer section for being the author of so many of my dinners. I’d also like to thank myself for buying that bag of disposable chopsticks one thousand years ago. I don’t think I’ll ever run out!
The recipe for sweet potato baby food couldn’t be easier. It is simply this: Buy a big sweet potato. Bake it within an inch of its life. Mush it up or blend it in the food processor. Serve. (Or better yet, let the baby serve…nothing’s more fun than cleaning sweet potatoes off of every surface in the house!)
Sigh. So many foods, so little time!
